When a person is seeking an attorney, there’s an expectation that they’ll be good – perhaps great – at their job. One way to tell a good attorney from a great one is whether they’ve ever been a Super Lawyer. The workers’ compensation law firm of Gerber & Holder, based in Atlanta, GA., is pleased to announce that several of our fine attorneys have been selected to be a Super Lawyer in 2022. Not just one, or two – but three attorneys were chosen for this prestigious award.
Attorneys across the country are judged worthy of being a Super Lawyer by specific criteria set forth by a panel of their peers who demand excellence and quality recognition within their chosen field of practice. Super Lawyers is a rating service that acknowledges greatness within 70-plus practice areas, and their website allows the public to find specialized attorneys near their location.
First, Natalie Elkins was acknowledged as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers, her fourth time being selected for this honor. “I very much appreciate, once again, being chosen as a Rising Star by Georgia Super Lawyers,” said Elkins. “As only 2.5% of Georgia Lawyers can be considered as Rising Stars, this selection inspires me to continue to work hard every day on behalf of our clients, the injured men and women of Georgia.” Elkins is a Georgia State University College of Law grad and joined Gerber & Holder in 2018.
Recently, the State Board of Workers’ Compensation invited Natalie Elkins to become a member of the State Board’s Annual Conference Steering Committee. The Board sponsors a three-day conference each year, which is considered a preeminent opportunity for education and networking with stakeholders involved in all aspects of the workers’ compensation system in Georgia. The Annual Conference Steering Committee plans and implements the program for this conference. According to Board Chairman Judge Benjamin Vinson, because of Ms. Elkins’ reputation as an outstanding participant in the workers’ compensation system, she was deemed an excellent addition to the Ethics sub-committee of the Steering Committee.
Secondly, our co-lead attorney Ben Gerber was selected as a Super Lawyer for the sixth year in a row. “I am honored to have been chosen by my peers as a Super Lawyer again,” said Gerber. “We work very hard here to represent injured workers and it is gratifying to be recognized for helping those in unfortunate situations.” Gerber was previously a Rising Star from 2011 to 2016.
Lastly, our very own Thomas Holder was named a Super Lawyer for the 17th time. “It is a great honor to be chosen as one of the two Injured Workers Advocates selected to be in the Top 100 Super Lawyers for 2022,” said Holder. “While the important work that we do is help our injured clients navigate the Georgia workers’ compensation system, it is nice to be recognized for the efforts that are made on our clients’ behalf every day.”
Holder is also a founding partner of Gerber & Holder Workers’ Compensation Attorneys, and has served as President of the Workers’ Injury Law & Advocacy Group (WILG). Tom holds a law degree from the Emory University of Law (class of 1981), and he was granted admission into the State Bar of Georgia, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit — all in the same year. Before partnering with Ben Gerber in 2018, he managed his own law firm for over 30 years successfully across the state.
