Staying active on social media is an important part of our ongoing efforts to conduct responsible community outreach. Social media offers us a chance to “throw back the curtain” and offer the public a glimpse of our world. We strive to use the platforms as a way to enrich the public and stay in touch with current and previous clients.
“I’ve been active on social media for years and am impressed by its reach,” says Gerber & Holder founder and partner Ben Gerber. “It’s an indispensable tool for our firm and I get a lot of enjoyment out of posting all sorts of updates and insights into our thinking and our work.”
Many people use social media to follow their favorite musicians, artists, actors, celebrity chefs, thought leaders and trendsetters.
So why not follow your friendly neighborhood workers’ comp attorneys?
We’re on Instagram, too!
Many people, young and old, are familiar with Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter/X. But some might not know much about Instagram.
Instagram is a video and photo sharing social network which was bought by Facebook to compete with Snapchat and Twitter/X. The new platform known as TikTok is also a competitor. Initially launched in 2010, Instagram took off in popularity, gaining 10 million users in a year and more than a billion by 2018.
Instagram allows users who have downloaded the app to their phones to upload photos and videos to share with followers. Followers can be anyone also using the app, from family members, friends or anyone who discovers your profile and wants to follow you.
While Instagram offers a limited-feature desktop computer variation, nearly all Instagram users do so using either an iPhone or Android device. Ten years after the platform launched, hundreds of billions of images have been uploaded and shared.
Instagram has attracted millions of daily users, most of which—upwards of 90%—are under the age of 35. Users like the platform to keep up to date with friends, family and celebrities by exploring uploaded content as a way to have social interactions and for recreation.
