A “drug formulary” is a list of both generic and brand name prescription drugs commonly used by practitioners to identify drugs that offer the greatest overall value to patients. Drug formularies are put in place by workers’ compensation insurance companies to regulate the amount and duration of medications for injured workers.
But are formularies actually helpful in lessening medical costs, or are they a burden for workers and their doctors?
